National Assembly approves reforms, enacts law and reaffirms Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Information about the reforms

In the reforms applied to the Penal Code, the aim is to make it universal and to benefit all sectors of civil society, in addition to including new cases considered crimes and offenses. The reform was promoted by Sander Koff, deputy of the National Assembly for the Social Democratic Party.

Ractified Universal Declaration of Human Rights

The national parliament approved the reaffirmation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948, which contains in its 30 articles the basic human rights.

 

Drafting and enactment of anti-discrimination law approved

On the initiative of Juan Cisneros, deputy of the National Assembly for the National Democratic Party, proposed the elaboration and approval of an Anti-Discrimination Law, indicating that it would be a support guide in conjunction with the Penal Code, so that judges could judge and penalize the accused in these cases with transparency.
