Central Bank of the Republic launches first series of coins and banknotes

The Central Bank of the Republic of Aswington, an agency under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, launched the first series of coins and banknotes of the manat, the country's national currency. Although manat has long been used as currency in the country, coins and banknotes have not been used since its inception until now.

The first series of coins consists of bronze coins of 1, 5 and 10 kopecks, as well as silver coins of 20 and 50 kopecks. In the meantime, the family of banknotes consists only of 1 and 5 manat bills. It is expected that in the next few days, the Central Bank will issue new banknotes for new denominations.
