Aswington recognizes Israel and Palestine as independent states

Aswington | The Presidency of the Republic of Aswington, through an executive order, announced the recognition of Israel and Palestine as independent and sovereign states. This is the first time that a nation recognizes both nations on the same date. In addition to the recognition of both nations, the decree also indicates that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will evaluate the recognition of two more nations, considered nations with limited recognition.

The State of Israel was established on May 14, 1948, one day before the British Mandate of Palestine was dissolved. On the other hand, the State of Palestine was constituted on November 15, 1988, however, it would not exercise control over any territory until the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993. Israel is a member of the United Nations, while Palestine is an observer member of the organization.
